Tuchel explains his plan to get the best out of Timo Werner

Image
Tuchel will hope to bring the best out of Timo Werner  Amongst the things on Thomas Tuchel's to-do list is to get Timo Werner finding form and firing again in a Chelsea Shirt.  Werner signed for Chelsea in the summer and begun his Blue's career impressively scoring eight goals in his first thirteen appearances. Since then however, he has scored only once in 16 games, the most recent being a penalty miss against Luton in the Fa cup fourth round. Having seen and faced Werner during his managerial spells in Germany, Tuchel is fully aware of his fellow compatriots ability, as well as his ability to play in his role and hopes to help Werner showcase it. On Werner's body language Tuchel explained 'At the moment he has a closed face as there is a huge weight on his shoulders.'  'He does care a lot, this is reflected in his character. Sometimes being a striker it could help that you care a lot; sometimes you would thing it's better to not care at all, but he is not

Head coach Thomas Tuchel's second match in charge is the first game kicking off in daylight since November last year.  Hosting a robust claret over a Sunday lunch appears to sound as if the halcyon days are as good as it gets in lockdown, The main course being served is Chelsea vs Burnley at Stamford Bridge which pips the third longest serving coach across the English system Sean Dyche against most recent arrival Thomas Tuchel. Despite being dominant with the ball on Wednesday night against Wolves this was not enough to hand Thomas Tuchel a winning start to his tenure at Chelsea, however, the Bavarian has had more days in order to instil his approach in order to prepare for his second consecutive league game at Stamford Bridge. Tuchel said 'if we take care of our performances t

Tuchel's first impressions of Mason Mount and Billy Gilmour

Image
Mason Mount and Thomas Tuchel following Chelsea's 0-0 draw with Wolves  There will have been eyebrows raised when Thomas Tuchel did not select Mason Mount in his first starting line-up however the new boss is is already seeing the enormous ability and passion that the midfielder possesses.  Tuchel painfully pointed that his team selection against Wolves may well have been the most unfair in his reign at Chelsea when you consider he only had one training session which to work with his new players.  The decision made to omit Mount , a regular starter in all but two league games up to that point and most noticeably Chelsea's main in form player was always likely to be met with raised eyebrows, however, Tuchel simply insisted that he simply chose to play experience during a difficult time. He is however, now excited to help the 22 year old midfielder flourish.  At today's press conference the German said 'I currently like what I am seeing from Mason so far, he has an amazin

We all know about the footballing philosophy of Thomas Tuchel, but what about Tuchel the man. In an interview given by Tuchel he explains what he likes to do during his day off and explains the key factors which drive his decision making in both life and in work.  Tuchel yesterday at his first Chelsea Media Press Conference  If you read about the background of Thomas Tuchel you will immediately find reports on an obsession with football which has lasted for a lifetime going back to his days growing up in the small Bavarian town of Krumbach. Tuchel said 'during my childhood it was all about football, football, football , but it was also a normal life. Thomas Tuchel's thoughts on 0-0 draw with Wolves

Image
Thomas Tuchel was impressed with Chelsea's Intensity and Courage in the draw against Wolves German head coach Thomas Tuchel had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Wolves in his first game in charge of Chelsea, however the German saw plenty of promising signs to build on after only having one day to work with his players in preparation for the game.  Tuchel was appointed Chelsea head coach exactly 24 hours before Chelsea were due to play Wolves at Stamford Bridge meaning preparations were very limited.  There will no doubt be an element of frustration amongst the players with not being able to take three points from a game dominated by Chelsea from start to finish, instead having to be content with a 0-0 draw despite coming so close to winning the game with the last kick.  However Tuchel was very impressed with how much of his message and preferred style of play had been taken on board by the team in a short space of time, ensuring he has a solid base to work on moving forwards. Hudson-Odoi reveals how Tuchel wanted him and the team to play

Image
Chelsea's Man of the match on Wednesday night Callum Hudson-Odoi caught the eye despite being asked to play in a rather unfamiliar position. Man of the match Callum Hudson-Odoi put in a brilliant performance in a 0-0 against Wolves The youngster was started at right back by Thomas Tuchel in the Germans' first game in charge and was later switched to the left hand side later on in the game as Christian Pulisic came on. The game as a whole finished in a 0-0 stalemate with not a lot of chances although changes began to increase for Chelsea nearer the end of the game. One of those was a shot from Hudson-Odoi as he cut in from the left hand side only for the shot to be saved.  However it was not only Hudson-Odoi's attacking work which saw him awarded the man of the match, it was in fact his duties as a wing-back  which were evident as the game ended when he snuffed out a dangerous attack from Wolves.  Afterwards, Hudson-Odoi said 'I spotted it straight away'. ' I rem

Chelsea in fact should have gone ahead with five minutes on the clock, Callum Hudson-Odoi with a beautiful whipped ball into the box however Olivier Giroud was unable to get contact on the ball to tap it in from close range at the near post.  In the 20th minute a glorious chance for Hakim Ziyech presented itself on the edge of the box however, the chance resulted in an easy save for Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio.  Antonio Rudiger who started in defence today , made a reckless challenge on the edge of the area on Daniel Podence, however Ruben Ne

How Chelsea post-Lampard may line up against Wolves preview, team news and Line-up

Match Preview   Life without Frank Lampard on the dugout begins for Chelsea who host Wolves in the premier league at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night. The last meeting between these two sides resulted in a 2-1 victory for Wolves back in December which begun a wretched run of form for Chelsea which resulted in Lampard being relieved of his duties on Monday Morning. The hot seat at Stamford Bridge as claimed yet another victim during the era of ruthless owner Roman Abramovich, not even Lampard's status as a cult hero and a legend could prevent him from being sacked after a dismal run of results.  Chelsea are a club never far away from controversy when the short tenures of their managers come to an end. Despite suffering five league defeats in his last eight games with the Blues, a large section of Chelsea fans feeling that Lampard should have been provided with more time to implement his philosophy at Stamford Bridge.  However, there have been reports that some of the Chelsea playe

Thomas Tuchel to take over as Chelsea coach: 5 things he needs to fix at Stamford Bridge

Tuchel has a massive mountain to climb with Chelsea - and there's lots that need addressing  Thomas Tuchel is set to take over at Chelsea following the sacking of Frank Lampard  It's not often for a manager to win 3-1 and then to lose his job - but then again this is Chelsea. It echoes memories of Maurizio Sarri's sacking after a 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League final before leaving to manager Juventus. Antonio Conte winning the premier league and the fa cup before getting the sack.  There has been no sentiment spared for Lampard who had hoped he would have been in a job for a little bit longer. In walks Thomas Tuchel , fresh from his stint at Paris-St-Germain for whom he secured two league titles, reached the final of the champions league and if rumours are true fell out with his bosses after achieving the same feat with Borussia Dortmund.  This may be rather interesting and not just for the drama behind the scenes. Chelsea are very well stocked as a team across t
