Match report Wolves 1-3 Chelsea Blues advance to the 5th round of the carabao cup after edging a thriller

 Four brilliant goals give Blues victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in what turned out to be 7 goal thriller at Molineux Chelsea made a flying start in what turned out to be a cracker of a knockout tie at Molineux against Wolves in the 4th round of the Carabao Cup at Molineux. Andrey Santos got the Blues up and running and set them on their way. Things were to get even better for the Blues soon afterwards with a brilliant team move finished off by Tyrique George with Brazilian starboy Estavao Willian scoring an audacious chip to put the Blues 3-0 up at the break.  However, things were far from comfortable and straightforward for the Blues, A determined fightback from the west country outfit combined with a red card for the returning Liam Delap complicated matters as the home side threatened to take the game to penalties.  Thankfully Jamie Gittens tremendous strike in off the post spared the Blues blushes to restore the two goal cushion, meaning that even with the home s...

Confirmed starting line-up to face Wolves

Chelsea make changes in goal, defence, midfield and attack ahead of tonight's fourth round Carabao cup tie against Wolves at Molineux Chelsea starting line-up to face Wolves in the Carabao Cup   Enzo Maresca makes wholesale changes by rotating the squad with Filip Jorgensen starting in goal with Tosin Adarabioyo, Malo Gusto and Jorrel Hato starting in defence. The trio are joined in defence by Josh Acheampong who is the only player to retain his place following Saturday's loss at home to Sunderland.  There is a strong expectation that Andrey Santos will partner Romeo Lavia in the midfield with Estavao Willian, Facundo Buoananotte and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens partnering Tyrique George in attack.  Tosin captains the blues for the first time on his 50th appearance for the club.  My score prediction for this game is Wolves 0-3 Chelsea  Let me know your score predictions in the comments below

Trevoh Chalobah cut a a visibly frustrated figure during the blues 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge to Sunderland bringing to an end the recent run of good form at home.  Trevoh Chalobah in action against Sunderland  The blues took an early lead at Stamford Bridge, however, the Black Cats got their equaliser midway through the first half before stealing the winner right at the death in injury time.  Chalobah said that the blues must learn from the first defat in 5, particularly with games coming thick and fast until the end of 2025.  He went onto add that "we needed to use the momentum built after scoring the first goal at home" "It was the great start the we needed and we wanted to attack more." Team news out for the Blues ahead of their early kick off away to Nottingham Forest  Enzo Maresca has confirmed that both Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos will start for the blues as he makes 3 changes to the team that played against Liverpool. There is also a noticeable return for Trevor Chalobah back into the squad after suspension with Moises Caicedo, Benoit Badiashile and Enzo Fernandes making way.  Josh Acheampong partners Chalobah whilst both Reece James and Malo Gusto start again. It's also Lavia's first start of the season with Reece James playing his 200th game for the club.

Starting line-up confirmed for blues ahead of their clash with the Parisians  Blues boss Sonia Bompastor makes 2 changes ahead of their champions league clash against Paris St Germain at Stamford Bridge. Having made wholesale changes in their last champions league outing against FC Twente, Sonia Bompastor has  decided to make two alterations to the starting line up which beat Tottenham Hotspur at Kingsmeadow on Sunday.  Chelsea team to face PSG  (BBC Sport) Sandy Baltimore and Sjoeke Nusken both come back into the starting XI as the blues look to build on the point earnt in the Netherlands last week   Blues youngsters Lexi Potter and Chloe Sarwie are both named on the bench with the latter having made her debut for the blues in their last champions league outing against Twente.

Blues away day trips to Elland Road and St James Park confirmed  Elland Road  The dates and the kick off times for the blues premier league away games against Leeds United and Newcastle United in December have been confirmed by the premier league. Chelsea begin the busy month of December by paying old foes Leeds United a visit at Elland Road as they renew their long standing rivalry.  The game was originally set to kick off at 8pm on Saturday 3rd December however, this has been altered to a slightly later kick off at 8.15pm with the game set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports. St James Park  Later on this month Enzo Maresca's blues pay a visit to St James Park to taken on Newcastle United. The game against the magpies is scheduled to take place on Saturday 20th December though the kick off time has been bought forward to 12:30pm with the game being broadcast on TNT Sports.
