Match report Wolves 1-3 Chelsea Blues advance to the 5th round of the carabao cup after edging a thriller

Four brilliant goals give Blues victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in what turned out to be 7 goal thriller at Molineux

Chelsea made a flying start in what turned out to be a cracker of a knockout tie at Molineux against Wolves in the 4th round of the Carabao Cup at Molineux. Andrey Santos got the Blues up and running and set them on their way. Things were to get even better for the Blues soon afterwards with a brilliant team move finished off by Tyrique George with Brazilian starboy Estavao Willian scoring an audacious chip to put the Blues 3-0 up at the break.

However, things were far from comfortable and straightforward for the Blues, A determined fightback from the west country outfit combined with a red card for the returning Liam Delap complicated matters as the home side threatened to take the game to penalties.

Thankfully Jamie Gittens tremendous strike in off the post spared the Blues blushes to restore the two goal cushion, meaning that even with the home sides third goal the Blues managed to see out the game at the full time whistle remaining 4-3 ahead.

The Blues have another away trip in the Carabao Cup as they travel to the Cardiff City Stadium to take on league one outfit Cardiff City.

Here are my player ratings for Wednesday's Carabao cup win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A far from convincing performance from Chelsea's most experienced player

Jorrel Hato - 6/10

Was at fault for Arokodare's goal. Taken off after the hour mark.

Andrey Santos - 8/10

Estavao Willian - 8/10

Carded midway through the first half however, made amends with an audacious  dink over Jose Sa shortly after the break. Taken off after an hour.

Facundo Buonanotte - 5/10

Whilst the rest of the Chelsea midfield clicked the Argentine struggled to get a foothold into the game.

Jamie Gittens - 9/10

Tyrique George - 7/10

Doubled the Blues lead in the 15th minute after being picked out by Gittens. Should have had a second goal minutes later.
