Trevoh Chalobah in action against Sunderland
The blues took an early lead at Stamford Bridge, however, the Black Cats got their equaliser midway through the first half before stealing the winner right at the death in injury time.
Chalobah said that the blues must learn from the first defat in 5, particularly with games coming thick and fast until the end of 2025.
He went onto add that "we needed to use the momentum built after scoring the first goal at home" "It was the great start the we needed and we wanted to attack more."
We knew that we were going to come up against a team that were full of togetherness. They showed that from the start and tried to disrupt our game. In the first half we had our chances, in the second half we tried creating more chances to get ourselves back onto the front foot but one switch off at the end and that's all it takes.
It's really disappointing. It's a game that we really should have won given that we are at home. We have been playing very well recently at Stamford Bridge, and with the recent form that we have had it's a disappointing loss to take.
This was not our best game as a team however, these are the games that we need to learn from and take into our next game.
Chalobah went onto explain in greater detail the two areas where the blues could improve in
He firstly stated that the blues needed to improve when other teams come and disrupt the blues and sit back looking to hit on the counter attack and improve when it comes to breaking these sort of teams down. He went onto add " there will be moments like this in a season. It will be a battle against any team you face in the premier league/"
He then went onto mention of the lack of consistency from the blues following the recent defeats to Bayern Munich in the champions league along with league defeats to Manchester United and Brighton stating that the blues need to keep working every day, learn from it and move on.
