Tomori loan deal close says AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini

A loan move for Fikayo Tomori is close to completion however, could still fall through according to AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini.  The two clubs are close to agreeing a fee in the range of  £25m loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the loan.  Milan have been tracking the progress of the 23 year old alongside Strasbourg's defender Mohammed Simakan being the prime targets.  However, with Simakan being injured for 2 months through requiring surgery the Serie A Club have made an attempt to step up their efforts to secure the signing of Fikayo Tomori in this window.  When asked about talks surrounding finalising the loan move, Maldini stated "It's very close, we are currently at the stage in between confirming his signing or not signing him at all, it could all fall through with just one detail".  "We saw in him the quality to throw him into the mix and be able to fit in with our other defenders, and that's why we want him." Hello and welcome to Follow Chelsea's live transfer blog for January 20th 2021.  As we move towards the latter stages of  this transfer window all eyes will be peeled towards Stamford Bridge to see if Chelsea who suffered a 5th premier league defeat in 8 games on Tuesday evening, going down 2-0 to Leicester City will add any new players to their existing squad.  Up to date so far the only transfer activity which has taken place have been departures with 4 players including Danny Drinkwater leaving the club. Another dreadful, woeful, shambolic, rubbish and pathetic performance from Chelsea Football Club as we slip to a 2-0 defeat away at the King Power Stadium to slip to 9th in the premier league table. everything that could have got worse did get worse we were nowhere in the first half we allowed Leicester's players too much time on the ball there was no marking for both of Leicester's goals. we were slow out of the blocks in that first half Leicester were all over us and could and probably should have scored more in the first half. In the second half it was a case of damage limitations but we still didn't do enough when we had the ball and Leicester kept counter attacking us. Leicester had already secured the game so didn't have to do much and were under little pressure and played in 2nd gear and thoroughly deserved their win.
