Ziyech and Kante to feature against Barnsley but Defender to miss out

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed today that both N'Golo Kante and Hakim Ziyech will both start Thursday's FA Cup game against Barnsley, however, Thiago Silva us unable to feature due to injury.

Thomas Tuchel confirmed that he will be fielding a strong side at Oakwell , which will include both Kante and Ziyech, even though there will be changes in order to keep the rest of the matchday squad fresh following a busy period recently.

A his pre-match press conference Tuchel confirmed that there would be a very high possibility of seeing a lot of changes.

He goes onto say ' for us this is the third away game from home now, therefore we don't want to lose both our awareness and attention to detail, so I think that this is a good opportunity to make some changes.

'Everybody in our team deserves to be on the pitch and there are also players who have suffered as a result of my decisions. It is an important moment for us tomorrow to have some fresh legs and minds out on the pitch.'

' I can confirm that N'Golo will start tomorrow and I am delighted to have him back in my team. We put him out on the pitch against Tottenham and he helped the other players on it, this is what he does.'

Against Sheffield United Kante made an appearance of the bench

'Hakim is another one who will feature tomorrow and hopefully we see the best of him. We rely on Hakim to always do something different, there is no doubt about that. He has a lot of quality and we rely on him just like everyone else in the team, there's no doubt about that.'

'Hakim has bad a good week in training and tomorrow he will have an opportunity to show the quality and determination that he shows in training.'

Hakim Ziyech will feature in tomorrow's game against Barnsley

One player though, who will miss the trip to Barnsley is Thiago Silva, although Tuchel was able to provide a positive update on the injury to the Brazilian.

Tuchel said 'For sure Thiago is out'.

Thiago Silva will miss the trip to Oakwell through a muscle injury

'He is feeling better and better which is fantastic news as he is getting the right treatment. One thing which I can be sure of with Thiago Silva is is that he will spend every single minute he has to speed up the healing process. However it is a muscle injury so we must be sure not to force it and we will wait for Thiago to fully recover.'

For Tuchel this is his first taste of the FA Cup and the German fully understands the competition and what it means to Chelsea.

'We play in each competition to win it said Tuchel. 'Every round in a cup competition is a more important round.'

'It is an elimination game so it is important that we are totally focused and on point in tommorow's game when it starts.'
