Tuchel has heard everything he needs to about Erling Haaland amidst transfer links to Chelsea

It would appear that Erling Haaland is on Chelsea's list of transfer targets ahead of the transfer window in the summer with head coach Thomas Tuchel looking to increase his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.

Erling Haaland is on a long list of summer transfers for Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen in attack

The January transfer window has closed it's doors less than one week ago and already there would appear to be speculation and rumours ahead of the summer window are rife.

Having splashed out more than £200 million on players in last summers window, Chelsea did not spend during the January transfer window, with only a handful of outgoings keeping the transfer department busy in a somewhat one of the more quiet January transfer windows on record.

The departure temporarily of Fikayo Tomori to AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the season, as well as out of favour defender Danny Drinkwater being loaned out to Turkey, remained the main headlines as far as any transfer work for Chelsea was concerned.

Despite the club's photographer not having to take any pictures of any signings waring the Chelsea shirt and holding the blue scarf aloft, the rumours column were as persistent as ever.

One name which has been kinked heavily with a move to Stamford Bridge is Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Erling Haaland. The Norwegian international has gone onto establish himself as one of the very best young prospects in world football and continues to go from strength to strength as every week passes by.

Already this season, Haaland has netted 22 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions, this just highlighting how much much potential he has in his armoury.

His form particularly for Dortmund alongside his sheer level of potential has captured the attention of the biggest clubs across Europe, with the likes of Chelsea along with Spanish giants Real Madrid showing interest.

Reports are saying that Thomas Tuchel who maintained Chelsea's unbeaten start to the season with a hard fought victory on Sunday against Sheffield United, is understood to be a massive fan of Haaland's and has already identified him as one of his main targets for the summer, along with the likes of Bayern Munich's David Alaba and RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano who are also applying their trade in Germany.

The progress which Haaland had made at Dortmund, considering he only signed for the Bundesliga giants over a year ago, is amazing. However, questions have also been raised about whether or not he would have made an impression in England had he joined Manchester United.

In the past United were Dortmund's direct rivals over a year ago in a race to sign the Leeds born player, however, he favoured a move to a club in the Bundesliga.

Although in January 2020 Haaland opted to join Dortmund, the chance of Haaland one day joining the premier league should not be dismissed, with his footballing father Alf-Inge Haaland spending several years in England, previously admitting that his son would relish playing in England.

Speaking during the latter stages of last year, in an interview with Sport1 Haaland senior stated 'I think a majority of players dream of one day playing in the premier league.'

"It's the league which is most watched worldwide and receives the most attention, and it is a league with good quality teams. There is no doubt that the premier league appeals to him.

" There is no doubt that when you are playing well, that big clubs will start to knock on the door, but at the moment we are only talking about speculations here.

"At the present moment it's neither in m head or Erling's that another club will be competing for him.

"At present we have signed a long contract with Borussia Dortmund as they have a fantastic team for Erling right now. We are not looking further ahead at this moment.

The fact that Haaland is attracted to a move to the premier league will be music to the ears of Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel as the former Dortmund coach has always identified him as one of his top transfer targets.

In truth, Chelsea's attacking ranks are currently awash with talent, summer signing Timo Werner has struggled to make an impact that many would have hoped for, meaning that Chelsea may view Haaland as an alternative or someone who could form a lethal strike partnership with the German international.

Werner after playing and contributing in Chelsea-s 2-1 victory at Sheffield United on Sunday has scored just 9 times in 31 appearances this season.
