Goalscorer Jorginho on Chelsea's win, his penalty technique and remaining humble

It was an emphatic penalty from Jorginho which separated both Chelsea and Tottenham on Thursday night, after the game the midfielder spoke about his new technique for taking a penalty as well the team's hard and humble work since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel to Chelsea.

You wouldn't have known that the last 2 of Jorginho's 5 penalties have been saved this season, such was the efficiency in which he dispatched his penalty kick in North London.

Somewhat of a surprise considering Chelsea's dominance throughout the game, Jorginho's strike from 12 yards out was the only goal of the game leaving Chelsea's vice-captain to reflect on a terrific away win.

'It's a great feeling' says Jorginho.

'We worked very hard. We knew it would be a difficult game, it was a great London derby against a very good side. We thoroughly deserved the win.

'The first half was excellent. We created lots of chances and could and probably should have scored more goals. We should have made better choices in the last few minutes of the game, that's an area we can improve on, we just need to make sure we keeping working the way we are and and we will see the results of our hard work.'

Jorginho added 'I felt okay before taking the penalty'

'I have kept working on my penalties, kept training, and I felt confident. My reason for changing my technique was because I felt this way to take a penalty would be better for me, and it worked  from the result you saw.'

Jorginho has started under Tuchel in each of the head coaches three games in charge and looked rather comfortable in the midfield pivot. The tempo was dictated by the Italian international last night and believes that Tuchel's new strategy is paying instant dividends.

'The message on what he expects from me is perfectly clear' Jorginho explained.

'We needed to be open-minded to understand what he wanted as quickly as possible as we had no time to waste.'

'When you are in a team with guys who are open to new ideas, to learn , to improve, and everyone has the same targets, then it is easy to work. Our group of players were very humble in accepting what he was coming to give us.'

'It is important that we remain humble and never think that it is enough. We haven't achieved anything. It is when you feel comfortable that you begin to drop . We must stay calm, carry on working hard and we will see the results as a consequence of what we are doing every day.'
