Complete Debrief: A complete performance from the Blues secures first win in the Thomas Tuchel Era

In this article we analyse the key statistics from Chelsea's 2-0 victory on Sunday against Burnley in Thomas Tuchel's second game in charge as head coach of the Blues resulting in a a deserved three points.

Chelsea's domination of possession with 71% against Sean Dyche's Burnley side just highlights how in control the Blues were at Stamford Bridge, as well as registering 19 shots on target compared to just a solitary single attempt on goal from Burnley which game in injury time.

Unlikely sources of goals welcomed

Not too many people will have predicted that the first goals to be scored in the Thomas Tuchel era would have come from Spanish defenders Cezar Azpiliqueta and Marcos Alonso.

Both Spaniards were on target , both in each half, to secure all three points for Chelsea combining this with a clean sheet kept in defence, this was a perfect day at the office for the Blues.

Captain Azpiliqueta recorded 106 touches in the game but, without doubt, the most rewarding one was the one which came five minutes before half-time as the defender ran the whole length of the pitch to provide support to Callum Hudson-Odoi before side footing his shot into the roof of the net to give Chelsea the lead.

An interesting statistic is that in all the games in which Azpiliqueta has had a shot on target Chelsea have never lost a premier league game winning five and drawing four

On the other flank , Marcos Alonso capped of a fantastic day with a magnificent volley into the top corner with seven minutes of the game remaining.

Alonso was making his first appearance in a Chelsea shirt since September and it looked like he'd never been away , the wing-back completed 86.5% of passes and won his aerial duels - something which Tuchel said was the reason for bringing him into the team for.

Hudson-Odoi thriving at Wing-back

A notable edition to Tuchel's first couple of games in charge has been Callum Hudson-Odoi with Tuchel often deploying his as an attacking right wing-back.

Hudson-Odoi has shone in his new position once again against Burnley , which earned him the man of the match award whilst proving a constant threat for Chelsea's opponents every time he attacks.

Hudson-Odoi registered four key passes in the victory, alongside going close with two attempts on goal, as well as a completion of 77% of his 48 passes.

Thiago Silva providing a solid base

In the two games which Thiago Silva has played under Thomas Tuchel Chelsea have recorded a win and a draw as well as keeping clean sheets in consecutive games.

Tuchel is the first Chelsea head coach to achieve this feat since 2012 and will hope to build on this foundation ahead of yet another busy week , with games against Tottenham and Sheffield United next on the agenda.

Yet another vintage masterclass of a performance put in by Thiago Silva

Tuchel favoured starting with a back as he had done against Wolves with Azpiliqueta tucking in from right back to join Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva in defence.

Thiago Silva who was an integral component of Thomas Tuchel's PSG side was an instrumental figure in Sunday's win making two tackles, four interceptions and siz clearances in a champagne performance at centre-back.
