Tomori completes loan move to AC Milan

Fikayo Tomori to spend rest of the season on loan at AC Milan

Fikayo Tomori has completed his loan move to Serie A leaders AC Milan

Chelsea academy graduate Fikayo Tomori has completed his loan move to AC Milan and will spend the rest of the season on loan Serie A club AC Milan having represented Chelsea since u8 level. Up to date Tomori has made 27 appearances for Chelsea so far, with 4 appearances coming this season, the most recent appearance coming as a substitute in the third round of the FA Cup against Morecambe earlier in the month.

The Canadian born defender, who made his international debut in November 2019 for England, previously had loan spells at Brighton, Hull City and Derby County before he established himself as a senior member of the Chelsea squad last season.

Tomori has enjoyed greater success at youth level , winning both the FA Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth League, alongside being named Chelsea's academy player in 2016.

Tomori was given an introduction to senior football by Guus Hiddink at the end of the 2015/16 season, featuring in a 1-1 draw against then newly crowned champions Leicester City, before he headed out on a trio of loan spells.

The first of those was at Brighton where helped them to earn promotion to the premier league and concluded with him winning Derby's player of the year award having reached the final of the championship play-off under the management of Frank Lampard.

With Lampard being appointed head coach in the summer of 2019, Tomori returned to Stamford Bridge as part of the first team squad for last season, making an appearance of the bench during the UEFA Super Cup before making his full premier league debut against Sheffield United.

That began a run of 10 consecutive starts in the league for the young centre-back, which included his wonder maiden goal for Chelsea in a 5-2 win away at Wolves. The goal was voted goal of the season by Chelsea supporters, whilst the potential shown in these performances by Tomori was rewarded with a new 5 year contract in December 2019.

However, this season opportunities for Tomori have been more limited, and the young centre-back will now spend the remainder of the season on loan with the Serie A leaders under the management of Stefano Pioli .

AC Milan  have a Europa League last 32 tie against Red Star Belgrade to look forward to in February.
