Chelsea in Competition for West Ham star

Chelsea face competition from  both Manchester clubs and Liverpool for West Ham's Declan Rice

West Ham have considered lowering their dropping price for Declan Rice down to £50 million with Chelsea in competition with Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool to sign the West Ham star.

The midfielder who is an England international looked to be moving to Chelsea last summer however, this collapsed as Chelsea were unable to meet West Ham's asking price of £80 million.

However, we understand that due to the financial implications of the Coronavirus Pandemic West Ham will now accept a significantly reduced fee of £50 million.

Rice remains the number one target for Chelsea, however, his father and representative Sean Rice is said to have made made aware of interest from other premier league clubs.

These are set to include both Manchester clubs and Liverpool, however a major factor being taken into consideration by the player is which club can provide him with the opportunity for regular first team football.

West Ham softening their evaluation on Declan Rice is as a result of a reduction in sponsorship, ticket revenues which have come in amid of a pandemic leading to matches being played behind closed doors.

A slight advantage for Chelsea could be that Rice's representative and father Sean is a season ticket holder at Stamford Bridge and the midfielder being familiar with the setup as Chelsea having come through the youth setup before joining West Ham in 2013.
